Mary Vinsen, Owner and Principal
Mary Vinsen’s career credentials stem from strategic Human Resources roles, including at the Commerce Commission, BNZ and NZ Fire Service.
These skills in managing people are a valuable asset at the Vinsen Quinovic franchise. Not only is the office systemised and efficient, but also clients enjoy industry-leading customer service and advice.
Mary Vinsen has been a property investor since the early 1990s, when she purchased a portfolio of 14 investment properties in Wellington in her first year. She managed these properties herself – at the same time as progressing her demanding career in corporate HR.
Mary eventually engaged a property manager, with the aim of lightening her workload. However, rent arrears were experienced for the first time, and Mary discovered that most investment property management is poorly executed. She switched companies – only to have a brand new refrigerator go missing!
A friend recommended Quinovic residential property management, and Mary has never looked back. Upon relocating to Auckland (and selling her Wellington property portfolio), Mary continued using Quinovic as her real estate partner. In 2009 Mary began working for Quinovic Parnell, and in 2010 she and husband David purchased the business. Mary is committed to providing high quality residential property management, at both a strategic and day-to-day level. She understands the needs of property investors, and delivers the service level to allow customers to achieve their strategic goals.
Outside of work, Mary is passionately interested in proactive health and nutrition, Pilates, yoga, cycling, climbing over rocks at Coromandel, watching rugby, travelling the world, catching up with international family and continuing personal development.

David Vinsen, Owner and Principal
David Vinsen’s portfolio career spans a number of Chief Executive, Trustee and Directorship roles. All of these roles have the common themes of responsibility, reputation, and integrity.
At Quinovic Parnell, David is charged with managing the trust account; ensuring the whole team provides excellent customer service; and maintaining strategic relationships.
David Vinsen is Deputy Chair of the board of the Parnell Trust, a non-profit community services provider with 80 staff. His skills in diplomacy, governance, advocacy and communication are of vital importance in all of David’s roles.
David has extensive leadership experience. He is currently contracted as the Chief Executive of the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association (IMVIA). Previously, he was President of the Motor Vehicle Dealers’ Institute (MVDI), where he was the fund’s longest-serving Trustee.
The Vinsen name is well known in the motor trade in New Zealand: David and his three younger brothers have been in business together since 1978 (and continue working together to this day). Firstly they started as vehicle dealers in motorcycles, and then used cars – and now they are all active property investors. The Vinsen property investment portfolio began three decades ago, and includes residential, commercial and light industrial properties in New Zealand and resorts in Rarotonga.
The similarities between the Property and motor vehicle markets
At first glance, there may not seem to be much difference between property investment and motor vehicle markets. But not only do these purchases represent the largest capital investments an individual is likely to make, but also building trust is a vital attribute in both of these industries.
Just as car dealers trusted David Vinsen to look after their money in fidelity funds, property investors can trust David Vinsen to be personally accountable for their property investment assets and trust funds.
When he’s not working, David Vinsen enjoys adventure motorcycling on his BMW R1200 GS. He also enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and solving cryptic crosswords.

Property Management Team
Sam McCarroll, Senior Property Manager
Sam joined the Quinovic team as a property manager in 2014. Systems oriented and excellent communicator, Sam has a raft of talent and has worked in a number of customer service roles which complement his position at Quinovic Parnell. Sam prides himself on prompt communication with his property owners and tenants.
Before joining the Quinovic team, Sam’s experience has included owning and managing his own rental property, business owner and experience in both banking and shipping.
Sam is proactive and enjoys participating at the weekly staff meetings. Sam regularly offers advice on how processes could be streamlined and improved upon. One of Sam’s strengths is his time management skills and this is invaluable in his role as property manager.
Outside of work Sam is a keen foodie and baker. He often shares his home baking with the Quinovic Parnell staff. On weekends, Sam takes part in geocache treasure hunting. In his spare time you’ll find Sam at his favourite gym. He is a fully trained Les Mills Body Pump Instructor and something he does part-time.

Loren Hill, Property Manager
Loren joined the Quinovic Parnell Team in 2020, during the 2020 lockdowns. She started in the team in administration but her natural efficiency and ability to pick things up quickly had her quickly moved to the Property Management Team. Loren has truly found her stride there, working tirelessly for investors and tenants alike.
Loren has quickly become very knowledgeable in all aspects of Property Management and is a huge asset to the team.
Loren came to the team from a long career as a vet nurse (the team regularly call on her for pet advice) with a deep and abiding love of dogs.

Daniel Slater, Property Manager
Daniel joined the team in June 2021. He has now taken over the a full portfolio of properties and quickly coming up to speed with the intricacies of the NZ Residential Property Market and legislation.
Daniel is from the UK and has returned to Auckland.

Kerry Kirwan, Business Development Manager
Kerry joined Quinovic Parnell in March 2017. With a background in business management, sales, people leadership and recruitment, Kerry is responsible for branch sales and marketing activities including branding, social media and advertising. Kerry is usually the first point of contact for anyone looking to utilise Quinovic Parnell’s property management services. Kerry also looks after market rental appraisals, which ensures she is constantly in touch with the Auckland rental market.

Rana Summers, Healthy Homes Project Manager
Rana joined Quinovic Parnell in December 2021, to work through all the properties to ensure compliance with the Healthy Homes legislation.
Her role is to work with owners to ensure the properties are assessed against the Healthy Homes requirements. Then working through item by item to get these cleared.
Rana has had a varied career including both IT in the commercial sector for 25 years and working in non-profit management.
In her spare time Rana is an artist working on depicting the world around her.

Jacqueline Kemp, Accounts & Administration Manager
Jacqueline joined Quinovic Parnell in 2020, providing all the financial and administration required to run a busy property management company.
Her role is to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the financial administration.
Jacqueline is a very keen runner, this is way more than a hobby for Jacqueline, it is in fact a way of life. At almost any local running events Jacqueline will be found competing and ranking incredibly well!
