Mary Vinsen, Owner and Principal
Mary Vinsen’s career credentials stem from strategic Human Resources roles, including at the Commerce Commission, BNZ and NZ Fire Service.
These skills in managing people are a valuable asset at the Vinsen Quinovic franchise. Not only is the office systemised and efficient, but also clients enjoy industry-leading customer service and advice.
Mary Vinsen has been a property investor since the early 1990s, when she purchased a portfolio of 14 investment properties in Wellington in her first year. She managed these properties herself – at the same time as progressing her demanding career in corporate HR.
Mary eventually engaged a property manager, with the aim of lightening her workload. However, rent arrears were experienced for the first time, and Mary discovered that most investment property management is poorly executed. She switched companies – only to have a brand new refrigerator go missing!
A friend recommended Quinovic residential property management, and Mary has never looked back. Upon relocating to Auckland (and selling her Wellington property portfolio), Mary continued using Quinovic as her real estate partner. In 2009 Mary began working for Quinovic Parnell, and in 2010 she and husband David purchased the business. Mary is committed to providing high quality residential property management, at both a strategic and day-to-day level. She understands the needs of property investors, and delivers the service level to allow customers to achieve their strategic goals.
Outside of work, Mary is passionately interested in proactive health and nutrition, Pilates, yoga, cycling, climbing over rocks at Coromandel, watching rugby, travelling the world, catching up with international family and continuing personal development.Email Mary
David Vinsen, Owner and Principal
David Vinsen’s portfolio career spans a number of Chief Executive, Trustee and Directorship roles. All of these roles have the common themes of responsibility, reputation, and integrity.
At Quinovic Parnell, David is charged with managing the trust account; ensuring the whole team provides excellent customer service; and maintaining strategic relationships.
David Vinsen is Deputy Chair of the board of the Parnell Trust, a non-profit community services provider with 80 staff. His skills in diplomacy, governance, advocacy and communication are of vital importance in all of David’s roles.
David has extensive leadership experience. He is currently contracted as the Chief Executive of the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association (IMVIA). Previously, he was President of the Motor Vehicle Dealers’ Institute (MVDI), where he was the fund’s longest-serving Trustee.
The Vinsen name is well known in the motor trade in New Zealand: David and his three younger brothers have been in business together since 1978 (and continue working together to this day). Firstly they started as vehicle dealers in motorcycles, and then used cars – and now they are all active property investors. The Vinsen property investment portfolio began three decades ago, and includes residential, commercial and light industrial properties in New Zealand and resorts in Rarotonga.
The similarities between the property and motor vehicle markets
At first glance, there may not seem to be much difference between property investment and motor vehicle markets. But not only do these purchases represent the largest capital investments an individual is likely to make, but also building trust is a vital attribute in both of these industries.
Just as car dealers trusted David Vinsen to look after their money in fidelity funds, property investors can trust David Vinsen to be personally accountable for their property investment assets and trust funds.
When he’s not working, David Vinsen enjoys adventure motorcycling on his BMW R1200 GS. He also enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and solving cryptic crosswords.Email David

Gordon Walker, Senior Property Manager
Gordon has been a property manager at Quinovic Parnell since 2003. Prior to working for Quinovic he lived on Australia’s Gold Coast and while overseas rented out his New Zealand home, so has experience as a tenant and a landlord, and understands both sides. He is a French Polisher by trade, a former owner of his own business and has interior design experience. His eye for detail, high standards and impeccable work ethic have seen him excel in his Quinovic role.
Gordon ensures his portfolio of properties is maintained to a very high condition, and he enjoys signing up responsible tenants. He has earned himself such a good reputation that previous tenants have brought their own investment properties to him after investing themselves. With his creative flair many owners call on him for input and advice when renovating their investment properties.
Away from work Gordon is a wine connoisseur. He enjoys socialising with friends and entertaining. He may often be found hunting down antiques which he goes on to restore to their former beauty. His much loved cat keeps him busy, so he seldom has a spare moment.Email Gordon

Sonia Simon, Office Manager
Sonia has been with Quinovic Parnell since June 2016. A strong admin background primarily in risk insurance and financial planning has seen Sonia take on any task at ease regardless of how difficult.
Sonia has taken on implementation and management of our fire alarm programme, and roll out of our insulation procedures. She assists David with the office’s daily and monthly financial duties, and frequently does this single handed. Recently Sonia took over management of arrears. All overdue amounts are noticed by Sonia, something her keen eye for detail and ability to problem solve both come in handy with.
A dedicated, loyal and efficient member of our team; you’ll find her on the front desk ready to greet you with a smile. Sonia prides herself on communicating in a timely manner to any enquiries, and she researches her facts thoroughly before responding. Passionate about her family and heritage; Sonia spends her spare time with her relatives, and studies Te Reo through Te Wananga o Aotearoa.Email Sonia
Alannah joined the team at Quinovic Parnell in 2007, and has a background in finance, market research and customer service. Her role at Quinovic Parnell is varied: as well as being responsible for social media marketing and assisting Kerry, she also helps out the property management team with administrative tasks, such as chattels inventories, where her eye for detail is an asset. She also assists with tenant applications during busy times.
Alannah enjoys the team environment at Quinovic Parnell. “This business is very much like a family where we work together to help one other,” she says.
